Last Friday I saw the band Duran Duran perform at Harah's Rincon in San Diego. I have been a Duran Duran fan since I was in 8th grade. Although Duran Duran and Amateur Angel's Sendher have nothing in common in terms of their music, and Amateur Angel's Cannon Michaels is not based on Simon Le Bon, Duran Duran's lead singer, the idea of wanting to be as close as possible to one's crush (as seen in Amateur Angel) was definatley inspired by my obsession with the band Duran Duran while I was in high school.
